Three alloy carriers and five titanium sprockets make the Shimano XTR M980 10 Speed Cassette Shimano's lightest MTB cassette yet. Hyperglide sprockets have a computer designed tooth configuration with contoured shift gates, resulting in a crisp smooth shift even under load. Close ratio gearing allows a more efficient use of energy through finer cadence control. Three separate lightweight alloy carriers reduce weight and increases stiffness giving more precise, faster shifting. The five largest sprockets are made from titanium to reduce weight without sacrificing strength. The sprockets are cut away extensively and drilled to further reduce weight without reducing rigidity. Nickel-plated finish offers hard wearing resistance to corrosion, and cassette comes complete with an alloy lockring. Compatible with 10 speed HG-X MTB chain.
